Wheat Ridge, Colorado

We made it! The drive wasn't too bad at all. We only had to pull over once to calm Caleb down to sleep for the night. He really missed lying on his side so it was only natural for him to fuss about it. Josh did almost all of the driving and only pulled over once for an hour and a half nap.
Caleb liking his side!

We got to Britta and Ryan's house at about 9:00am. Britta just happened to be home between meetings and greeted us. What a nice surprise! Their home is beautiful! We got a quick tour and then settled in. I set up the pack-n-play while Josh showered and refreshed himself. He left at 10 to meet with some customers in Denver. I don't know how he functioned after driving 13 hours but he had a great time. Meanwhile Caleb and I stretched out and took an hour nap. Caleb loved lying on his back on the bed and playing with me. It felt sooo good!

Britta came home for lunch and got to play and love on Caleb for the rest of the afternoon. Ryan came home after work and we told him how much we loved his house. He is also quite the cook...lucky us! We had sliders and veggies for supper. Then Britta picked up my brother Garrett from the airport. He's in town for the weekend. While she was getting him, Krista came over. So fun to have so many siblings together!

We were kind of lame the first night. We thought about playing a game but ended up heading to bed by 9:00. Caleb of course wasn't wanting to sleep yet though. He finally went down for the night at 10:15 and I was asleep shortly thereafter.

SATURDAY:
We woke up early (around 6:30) and played. Caleb was already back down for a morning nap before we had breakfast with Britta and Ryan. At about 10:00 we went out to Bass Pro Shop to buy fishing supplies for our time at Crestone. Britta, Ryan, and Josh all got fishing licenses. Caleb really enjoyed the store with all the shiny lures!

For lunch we ate a Mexican and it was REALLY good! La Sandia was the place for those some day coming out to the Denver area. One of the perks of eating out in Colorado is that Britta and Ryan can direct us to the really good places. From there we split up so Britta could pick up Krista and Garrett while Ryan took us to Savory Spice! It is a great store where they bottle all their own spices and blends. AMAZING flavors! We did some damage there and then headed to REI. REI was having what they called a Garage Sale. It was all previously owned and some of it needed little fixes. Well we don't mind any of that. Josh found some Hiking Sticks that are usually $129 that he got for $29. Then we bought a hiking baby carrier, Deuter III, for $124 that was usually $289 all because of a broken clip on the rain hood that we fixed with a caribeaner for $2.50! WE LOVE DEALS!

We got back to Britta and Ryan's about 4:00 and took it easy for a bit. We ordered pizza and waited for Mom, Gene, and Lauren to land. Lauren has been in Korea teaching English the last three years. The last time I saw her was Christmas of 2009! They got in at about 8:20 and it was soo fun to see them all! Caleb unfortunately didn't last that long and was fast asleep, but they peeked in to see him.

We talked and heard fun stories. They poured Soju, a Korean liquor, for a celebratory shot. I took pictures. I love having family together...if only two other siblings and a brother-in-law were here, and we would all be together. It's been over 3 years since we've been together!

We all went to bed around 10 and Caleb didn't peep! He's adjusting well to Colorado. We did give him an ounce of water to help keep him hydrated here since it's so dry. He's a champ and a treat to travel with!
Josh solved their Rubrics cube!
