Medela has a monthly competition called "Keep the Connection." I uploaded a picture of Caleb and myself on 8/11/2011 to enter. You will need to give your email so they can send you an email to confirm your vote, but you are not registered for any other emails from them...no spam! This just ensures that I don't vote for myself 300 times. One vote per email.

This is the picture! If we win we get a free breast pump...which I need:)

Family Time

August is a month of anniversaries...ours, my parents, my sister and her husband's, and the 15th anniversary of my step-father's ordination. This means...family time!

Social Butterfly

My little guy has little buddies!
Starting August 10th...we had a busy couple days!
Wednesday Aaron came over for supper and to play.

Thursday Kash came over with his brother for a walk and some play time too.

Friday we went for a walk with Severin.
Severin and Caleb (who was exhausted from all the fun!)

All of these little buddies were born within 4 weeks of Caleb...before or after. Aaron is a month older. Kash is 10 days younger. Severin is 3.5 weeks older. I'm exhausted after all these play dates!
This is 20 minutes after I woke Caleb up Saturday morning. Recovering!

Rolling?

Today Caleb rolled over from tummy time to his back while we were playing on the floor. Woohoo!

Caleb had a friend of mine visit him today. T.C. got to hold and play with Caleb too. He was happy or sleeping the whole time! I love when he makes great impressions!

He also gave Daddy lots of smiles and love when he came home from a long day and week at the office. What a good boy!

We went for a walk tonight and he laughed until he fell asleep. We got home and then took a bath. Again...all smiles. I think today was one of his happiest days ever!

Tonight, as I was lulling him to sleep I was just staring at him. I couldn't help it, tears of love rolled down my cheeks. My heart was so full of love at that moment that it just spilled over. Then I began to hum him his favorite song. He gave me a smile behind his pacifier and then started to blink long blinks. Awww...my sweet boy!

The week with Eli

Caleb and I had a busy week, but we started each day with Cousin Eli. We were Eli's morning childcare Monday through Thursday. Eli is a curious and loving soul! He was so good with Caleb. He mastered baby talk...almost to well:) Woody was at his ankles the whole time, especially as Eli went in and out of the house. As Eli got more acquainted with our house he became more and more helpful.

To be honest I was a little overwhelmed Monday. I wasn't so sure I could have another kid if this is what it would be like all the time. But Eli settled into the routine with us and it all worked out. I'm not too scared now for more kiddos (in the future)!

We love you Eli! And Caleb loved having his cousin around!

Home for the Anniversary

Aww so good to be home!

Sunday we really laid low and let people come to us. Nana and Papa had to come and love on Caleb. Boy did they miss him! Jess and Michael (aunt and uncle) missed him too! They can't believe how big he is. Truth be told, we can't either!

Monday we went out to sushi with Auntie Lauren. YUM! We got some chef choices of sushi and some other dishes. No bad decisions in the ordering! I love having the waiters and waitresses smile and adore Caleb. Lauren had a fun time laughing at Caleb's big eyes. It's also too funny, so I have to share...Lauren says that when Caleb is looking at her, he's thinking, "Who's that exchange student?!" I love her sense of humor!! WE LOVE YOU LAUREN!

Very wide-eyed - he's looking at Lauren.

Tuesday, August 2, Josh and I had been married three years. I realized that while we were dating we dreamed and talked about our future and even future kids. Here were are...living the dream! We reminisced about our wedding day. While it was a whirlwind, there are still moments you hold dear to. One of my favorite comments of the day, is that despite many hours of photography, then wedding, and then reception, my mouth didn't hurt from smiling. It was just natural and wonderful all day...couldn't help but smile! Josh made me smile this anniversary with a delivery of flowers:)

Now Caleb updates:
He is grabbing things! He is grabbing his toys and my hair:) I have to be careful. I'm actually debating if I should just cut it since it is in a ponytail all the time now.

We are rocking tummy time and he also loves to kick, kick, kick! I lay down a blanket and his legs could create enough energy to power the house.

Due to tummy time excellence, his head control is great! He likes being thrust into air! He also is big enough for the exosaucer I bought for him two weeks ago (which at that time he wasn't ready).  I thought it would be another month or two before he could use it, but instead he's giggling in it! He loves the toys around it.

On Tuesday I held a 5 day old little girl who was born at 6.5lbs and on Wednesday I held a 4 day old who was 7.5lbs. Caleb was never that big! It really makes it clear how big Caleb is! Time is just flying by and our baby is now a little boy!
Look at that belly!
We also got a chance to see Cousin Denise and Cousin Denna. They love to give Caleb love, so much so that they claim Caleb as their baby!
